Memorial Day ceremony return to Milford
We have been working hard over the last several months to revive the Milford Delaware Annual Memorial Day Ceremony, set for Monday, May 27. Please visit our page to support the effort and stay informed!
Below are some updates about this year’s events:
1. The focus will be on our fallen heroes. In honoring their sacrifice, we have removed unnecessary parts of the ceremony like speeches from politicians. The day will solely focus on their sacrifice.
2. The location has been moved to the Milford High School auditorium to accommodate more families and encourage students to participate in the ceremony. We feel it is important for the next generation to learn about the sacrifices of our armed forces and the freedom they secure one generation at a time.
3. We will be asking audience members to take flags and poppy flowers with them from the ceremony to start a conversation with people they meet throughout the day about the true meaning of Memorial Day.
