I support Bryan Shupe for mayor.
I was born and raised in Milford. I grew up on a farm here, enjoying the rural lifestyle, and as a young child, I can remember a thriving downtown with many diverse businesses. I can remember slowly watching the downtown begin to fade away and the highway becoming the commerce center for Milford. As with many young adults, this coincided with my thoughts and desires to move away and explore the world.
After a cadetship at V.M.I. and service as a U.S. Marine, I returned to Milford following a 12 1/2 year absence with the intent to remain a short while to explore and pursue job opportunities elsewhere. What I found returning to Milford was a community beginning a new chapter.
I discovered young citizens taking an interest in the community and desiring progressive and positive change, yet respecting and preserving the rich history of Milford. One of these citizens was Bryan Shupe.
Bryan is a Milford native, and he’s one of those ‘young folks’ that has also returned to Milford. He has actively chosen to be involved in the community and help Milford responsibly grow and prosper.
He is a small businesses owner in the community, and he has significantly contributed to the revitalization of the downtown through them. Bryan has risen to the challenge of public service by sitting on city council, and he can be found in all wards of the city attending events and listening to the people with open ears.
Bryan Shupe genuinely takes community to heart, and he has my vote to be a leader for Milford that will be present in the community, listen to the people, and work for the betterment of our city for those that were raised here or those that were smitten by Milford and have chosen to make their home here.
Sincerely,
Mark Carter
